Ynysangharad War Memorial Park

Boasting the National Lido of Wales, acres of open space, adventure playground, sports courts, café and the Welsh National Anthem – what’s not to love about Ynysangharad War Memorial Park?

It is home to the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, a stunning restoration of the original lido that opened in the 1920s.

Lido Ponty opens seasonally and has three heated outdoor pools, offering early morning swims, family fun sessions with inflatable obstacle course and toddler splash pool with fountain.

Next door is Lido Play, an accessible adventure playground with swings, slides, roundabouts, tunnels and sandpit, all designed with an industrial theme to echo Pontypridd’s past.

The Waffle House at Caffe Lido is a great place to grab a hot drink, snack or sweet treat.

Explore the acres of the park, including the Bandstand, sunken garden and pathways lined with huge trees.

Stop at the Evan and James statue, honouring the Pontypridd father and son who wrote and composed the iconic Welsh National Anthem, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau.
