Aberdare Park to Dare Valley Country Park

This 9km walk takes you from Aberdare Park, all the way along the River Dare and up into Dare Valley Country Park.

You can combine it with the Aberdare Park walk first if you choose.

Head up towards the mountains along the straight path into Dare Valley Country Park, cross through land that was once the Bwlffa Colliery and stop to admire the mini waterfalls and cascades along the way.

Crossing bridges and passing lakes, there are a number of vantage points, including the dramatic cliff face of Craig y Darren.

Once in the park there are further walks you can take – from a gentle stroll around the lakes to treks high onto the Penrhiwllech and Bwllfa mountains.
