Caban Guto
Set in the heart of the ancient Llanwonno Forestry is Caban Guto.
This cosy venue is a haven for explorers and walkers – plus it’s dog friendly too.
It serves hot and cold drinks and breakfast baps that will set you up for a day of hiking in the forestry.
Or, after enjoying the stunning surroundings, tuck into a home-made sandwich and cawl (soup) to refuel.
Caban Guto is named in honour of the legendary Guto Nyth Bran, who lived nearby and was once the fastest man in the world.
He is buried in the graveyard at the nearby St Gwynno’s Church and the Nos Galan Road Races are held in Mountain Ash each year to keep his legend alive.
The stunning Llanwonno Forestry formed Guto’s training ground. You can now explore for miles, discover the reservoir and the waterfall.
