Aberdare Heritage Walk

Key points of interest along the route includes The Market Hall - home to the first National Eisteddfod and the statue of Caradog - a famous local character and musician.

You will also see 'Queen Mary's Cottage', a traditional miner's cottage visited by King George V and Queen Mary in 1912.

The 0.75m walk starts at The Market Hall and ends at the Former Bush Inn.

The trail is narrated by members of the Cynon Valley History Society who are based at Cynon Valley Museum (point 20 on the map) is a great complement to this trail.

Please note the route is mainly flat, though there may be some uneven terrain.
