The Grogg Shop

Did you know there is a place near Pontypridd where you can “see” Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Freddy Mercury and the Beatles?!

The Grogg Shop is definitely a unique visit, hailing itself as a ceramics factory and shop, plus Welsh rugby museum.

The ceramic Groggs – called so as they are made from grog clay – stand under 10 inches and are modelled on sporting stars and celebrities.

There are also historical figures from Welsh coal mining and, of course, sheep and dragons.

Groggs were created by the late John Hughes OBE in the 1960s and his son, Richard, carries on the tradition to this day.

The limited edition Groggs are displayed and sold amid priceless sporting memorabilia, including game shirts and boots, donated by those who have their very own Groggs.

You can also take a trip down memory lane and see Groggs through history. They say you haven’t made it in Wales until you have your own Grogg!
