Barry Sidings Countryside Park

This huge adventure space really takes enjoying a day out up a gear!

Barry Sidings Countryside Park has a mini bike pump track and mountain bike course to enjoy, as well as loads of flat pathways that are perfect for scooting.

There’s lots of green open space for football, Frisbee and picnics and exciting walks into the mountains that surround the country park.

Explore the lakes, stop at the adventure playground and see if you can spot the resident heron.

Barry Sidings Countryside Park has been reclaimed from industry and sits on the tracks of the former tramline that would have taken coal from the nearby Lewis Merthyr Colliery (now A Welsh Coal Mining Experience) down to Cardiff Bay, where it was transported all over the world.

Now an incredible adventure for all, the countryside park is also home to the Bike Doctor, offering mountain bike repairs, sales and more.

Bike Doctor also run the Barry Sidings Café, which is an experience in itself! It is home to mega burgers, loaded fries, milkshakes, indulgent hot chocolate and more.
